Regarding Local Improvement No. 2020-01 to authorize the expenditure and borrowing of money for the purchase of land, construction of a new lagoon and required forcemains and other appurtenances for the community of Boissevain and surrounding area, and the decommissioning of the existing wastewater lagoon.

PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given pursuant to subsection 318 of The Municipal Act that the Council of the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton has scheduled a public hearing at the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton Council Chambers, 420 South Railway Street, Boissevain, Manitoba on the 25th of March, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. to present the following local improvement plan:

  • the purchase of land, construction of a new lagoon and required forcemains and other appurtenances for the community of Boissevain and surrounding area, and the decommissioning of the existing wastewater lagoon.
  • Please refer to the enclosed copy of Local Improvement Plan No. 2020-01 for a more detailed description of the local improvement including identification of the local improvement district and potential taxpayers, estimated project costs, funding sources, method and rates of taxation and particulars of borrowing.

A written objection may be filed with the Chief Administrative Officer, at 420 South Railway Street, PO Box 490, Boissevain, Manitoba, R0K 0E0, prior to the commencement of the public hearing. At the hearing, Council will hear any person who wishes to make a presentation, ask questions, or register an objection to the local improvement plan.

All objections, written or verbal, must be filed prior to the adjournment of the hearing and must include the name, address and property description of the person filing the objection and the grounds of their objection.

 Additional copies of the local improvement plan are available at the municipal office at 420 South Railway Street, Boissevain, Manitoba.
