Municipal Updates

COVID-19 Update

Effective January 23, the Manitoba Government has made modest changes to the provincial public health orders affecting Prairie Mountain Health, including the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton. The Province remains in Code Red, Critical on the Provincial Pandemic Response System.

  • Allow two designated people to visit indoors at your residence
  • Outdoor visits of up to five people only, plus household members on an outdoor private property
  • Hair salons can open at 25% capacity
  • Retail outlets an sell any product. 25% capacity
  • Restaurants, museums, libraries, churches recreational facilities, esthetic services remain closed

Please remember to stick to the fundamentals: physical distancing, washing hands and wearing a mask. And as always, be kind!

COVID-19 Update

Effective November 12, all Municipal facilities are closed to the public including:
• Boissevain-Morton Civic Centre, including the Municipal Office, Council Chambers and Public Room
• Boissevain Arena
• Boissevain-Morton Library
• Boissevain Recycling Depot.

COVID-19 Update

Effective Nov. 12, the entire province of Manitoba moved to the Critical level (red) on the #RestartMB Pandemic Response System to halt COVID-19 transmission and protect Manitoba’s most vulnerable. To learn more about restrictions and the measures in place visit http://www.manitoba.ca/covid19/restartmb/prs/index.html.

The chief provincial public health officer urges Manitobans to not socialize with people from outside their household, to significantly reduce the number of close contacts and avoid closed-in or crowded spaces. In addition, they should focus on these fundamentals to help stop the spread of COVID-19:
• Stay home if you are sick, or when any member of your family is sick.
• Physically distance when you are with people outside your household.
• If you cannot physically distance, wear a mask to help reduce the risk to others or as required by public health orders.

COVID-19 Update

Updated August 4, 2020 – With the Manitoba Government’s phased approach to restoring services, Municipality of Boissevain-Morton Council has made the following decisions regarding Municipal facilities, programs and services:

• Boissevain-Morton Swimming Pool: Closed for the Season
With the condition all users follow health and safety guidelines from Manitoba Health.
• Boissevain Legion Hall: Open to public
Open for conditional public use at the discretion of the Municipality. All user groups of Municipal facilities are required to sign an agreement to comply with Public Health Orders. To download form click here, fill out and sign then return to Municipal Office.
• Boissevain-Morton Community Theatre: Open to the public
With the condition all users follow health and safety guidelines from Manitoba Health.
• Boissevain-Morton Municipal Office – Open to Public
Limit one person in the office at a time. Mandatory masks and hand sanitizer. For accessibility, call 204-534-2433 for curbside service. Please consider remote payment options. All meetings by appointment only. Please note washrooms, Council Chambers and Public Room remained closed to the public at this time.
• Civic Centre Public Room & Council Chambers: Open to public
Open for conditional public use at the discretion of the Municipality. All user groups of Municipal facilities are required to sign an agreement to comply with Public Health Orders. To download form click here, fill out and sign then return to Municipal Office.
• Boissevain Campground: Open to public
Open to seasonal and overnight camping. Washrooms and shower facilities open to the public.
• Municipal Ball Diamonds & Soccer Fields
With the condition all users follow health and safety guidelines from Baseball Manitoba, Manitoba Soccer and Manitoba Health. All user groups of Municipal facilities are required to sign an agreement to comply with Public Health Orders. To download form click here, fill out and sign then return to Municipal Office.
• Boissevain-Morton Recycling Depot: Open to the public
With the condition all users follow health and safety guidelines from Manitoba Health.
• Boissevain-Morton Library: Open to the public
With the condition all users follow health and safety guidelines from Manitoba Health.
• Playgrounds: Open to public – Use at your own risk
Kin Park, McDonald Bay, Boissevain Campground and Tommy Turtle playgrounds have reopened to the public. Playground structures will not be sanitized. Please practice physical distancing, proper hygiene and remember to follow all public health guidelines.
• Museums: Closed for 2020
including Wildlife Museum, Moncur Gallery, Model Railway and Beckoning Hills Museum, will be closed for 2020 season.
• Canada Day: Cancelled for 2020

The following remain closed to the public until further notice:
• Boissevain-Morton Fire Hall
• Boissevain-Morton Public Works Shops, Urban, Rural and Water Plant

Alternative methods to make payments:

Online Banking with local RBC & Sunrise Credit Union
• add Municipality of Boissevain-Morton as a “payee”,
• for taxes – choose Real Property Taxes, account number is the first 6 digits of your roll number
• for utilities – choose Utilities, account number is the first 6 digits of your account number

Municipal Drop Box Located on the front of the Civic Centre
• For security reasons, please drop off payments during office hours only (Monday-Friday 8:30am – 4:30 pm)
• Cheques, bank draft or cash, please include your roll number or account number in the memo or on the envelope.
